We began spinning during a particularly stressful time in our lives. Learning to spin was a blessing in several ways. It allowed us to have some “sanity” time at a time when we could not find sanity or calmness anywhere. We had a wonderful teacher, Toni Neal of The Fold, who has now become a wonderful close friend. It is with her encouragement and support that we have embarked on this adventure.
Our daughter and I began hand painting fiber and progressed to yarn. We love creating the colors and it has given us some special “together” time. However, children grow into young adults and they start to spread their wings. Our daughter, Bethany, is going to college and working almost full-time. Sadly, that leaves little time for her to help with the coloring at the present time. I am saddened that she is unable to be by my side but she is growing in her own endeavors. I have been able to keep up with the growing interest and demand for our hand painted yarns and fibers, however.
